2026 Mass Intention Requests

The practice of requesting a Mass to be offered for loved ones, living and deceased, is a beautiful and wonderful part of our Catholic tradition. If you would like to request a Mass Intention or have any questions regarding our policy, please visit the parish office. The suggested donation for each Mass is $10.00.  On September 2, we will begin accepting requests for 2026.

We can accept only one intention per Mass. Each Mass is said for one person, spouses, or one family.  For each Solemnity, (example: weekend Masses or Holy Day of Obligation Masses) it is required that one Mass is scheduled for the intentions of our parishioners known as “Pro Populo” (For the People), as required by Canon Law and diocesan statute.

Due to the number of requests that we receive, each household may request up to 10 Mass intentions per year; four Masses for any one person and/or family per year, these intentions are spaced at least 30 days apart.   Two of these Masses can be at weekend liturgies and/or Holy Days.  Each person and/or family may have up to seven Masses offered for them each year.

An example: Alice Johnson would like Masses said for her husband Edward.  Alice can request four Masses for her husband.  Alice Johnson’s household has six remaining Mass intentions for other loved ones, to use in the calendar year.  Other requestors may request Masses for Edward Johnson until he has a total of seven Masses for the year.

If we receive more requests than we are able to fill, we can direct intentions to the missionary Masses.  Catholic missions throughout the world are supported by donations from many sources; some missions rely solely on the small income they receive from Mass intentions.  Our office staff can help you fill out a “Request for a Mass offered by a mission priest” form and you can mail the request to Center for Mission, Society for the Propagation of the Faith; serving the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.
