I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Erich Hoffer as the new Head of School at St. Hubert Catholic School.

Mr. Hoffer is a native of Minnesota and a graduate of St. John’s University in Collegeville. He has served in Catholic education for over twenty years, as classroom teacher, dean of students, assistant principal, principal of a K-8 school, and, currently, as President of Bishop Machebeuf High School in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Hoffer continued his education and formation at Notre Dame and currently serves as an adjunct professor at Notre Dame and a mentor and coach to several principals throughout the United States. Mr. Hoffer is committed to Catholic education and to forming and educating the mind, spirit and body of every student. The appointment of Mr. Hoffer concludes our search process. I offer words of thanks to the members of the Search Committee and parish leadership for their time and efforts reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, and offering counsel to me. I extend my gratitude to Gayle Stoffel, Associate Director of Catholic Schools Leadership at the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, who offered guidance and support throughout our search process, and served on the search committee. Finally, I am grateful to the parents and staff who shared feedback and insights in the stakeholder feedback survey process and all those who offered prayers for a successful search. This collaborative effort led to a smooth search process and the selection of an outstanding new leader.

As we welcome Mr. Hoffer to St. Hubert, we prepare to say good-bye to Dr. Sorkin. On behalf of the entire St. Hubert community, I offer thanks and gratitude to Dr. Sorkin for his leadership, dedication, and commitment to our school these past five years. He leaves St. Hubert in a much stronger position than he found it, and we are forever grateful to him. We wish Dr. Sorkin well in his new position as President of Holy Angels Academy. Mr. Sorkin will conclude his position as Head of School on June 30, 2024; Mr. Hoffer will begin his role as Head of School on July 1, 2024.

We offer praise and thanks to God for the many blessings of the past year, including this appointment of Mr. Hoffer as our new head of school. May our response to God’s goodness be holy and faith-filled lives that give glory to God.
