First Sacraments Preparation (Grade 2)

Note to St. Hubert Catholic School families: SHS second graders will register for Sacrament preparation through the school.

The typical age for children to receive their First Reconciliation and First Eucharist is during second grade. Reconciliation (Confession) is the Sacrament in which God’s mercy and forgiveness reconciles the sinner with God, and also with the Church and Christ’s body. Children must receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation before First Eucharist, when they unite in Holy Communion with Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time.

Sacrament preparation is a journey that we take with parents and children. In addition to the weekly Wednesday formation, children and parents also participate in the following as part of the preparation:

  • Parent meeting (October)

  • Parent and child to attend scheduled retreats for First Reconciliation (January) and First Eucharist (April)

  • First Reconciliation Service (February)

  • First Eucharist Mass (May)

Fee: $85 for the Wednesday program, plus $130 for Sacrament preparation.

Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 PM

Our Elementary programs are seeking catechists, room assistants, substitutes, hall monitors and background support!
